Consuming Apple ... WASH 食蘋果 ....要洗

Conventionally grown apples contain high amounts of pesticides and herbicides, feed organic apples whenever you can.

If organic aren’t available make sure you wash the apple thoroughly under warm water (30 min) to remove at least some of the pesticide residue before you feed it to your horses and dogs, yourself or your family.

傳統方法種植的蘋果, 蘋果中含有高量的殺蟲劑和除草劑, 所以最好食有機蘋果。

Washing Fish Oil Stain/ 洗魚油積

Do you feed fish oil to your dogs in liquid form or capsule (such as Coat Plus) form?  Have they ever created fish stain that is impossible to wash?  I have tried many ways to get rid of it (including chemical) , however, I find this solution to be most effective.  This might also be a solution for you.

Solution Mix the same amount of water and white vinegar together and put it in a spray bottle (I like spray bottle because it is easy to handle)	清洗濟 用相同份量的水和白醋混合在一起, 並把它放入噴霧瓶（我喜歡噴霧瓶因為比較容易處理）

Do you know how much HK dollar notes are issued for Chinese New Year?

Every year in Hong Kong, 300 to 400 million new and used notes are issued to cater for demand in connection with the Chinese New Year.  Three hundred million notes occupy  about 500 cubic metres of storage space and could fill 20 twenty-foot containers.  The three note-issuing banks need to arrange 500 trips with security escort to transport these brand-new notes.  And it takes 400 tonnes of cotton to produce 300 million banknotes.

The efforts and the resources that are required to generate the note contribute much green house gas. 

New Year Resolutions for the environment; 2012年目標及大計幫幫地球!

Welcome to 2012.  It is the time of the year that we come up with resolutions.  Have you thought about having a resolution that helps the environment.  I think you should have at least one resolutions for the environment.  It can be easily done, it can be either turning off the light when you leave the room or unplug the wire from the wall when your iphone is not being used.  And, do not buy the new phone that you do not need until 2013 or later.  It can be easily done and with enough of us doing it, it can help the environment a great deal!

又係新一年的開始! 而又是定下2012年目標及大計的時後。有冇想過今年的計劃包括一些對我們環境有關的大計.
 
我建議大家都最少加一個有關我們環境的大計. 計劃可以好簡單.  何如可以係 "關閉所有燈當你離開房間或不使用時"，又或 "當你的电話唔洗 Charge 的時後從牆上拔下電線"。及今年唔好買你唔需要的新电話直至2013或再遲D.  這些都可以很容易做到及都可以幫助我地的環境！

When you buy new gear (if you cannot find used), always look for gears that are made of organic and recycled materials.  There are many new products available, look for fleece made from recycled soda bottles and fabrics using organic cotton, bamboo.

We all have baking soda sitting in our kitchen cabinet and a box use for cooking usually last forever (a year or two).  But, do you know that baking soda is also a miracle-cleaning agent?  It can remove odor, remove humidity, and kill germs, etc...  It is also excellent when mix with lemon and vinegar together. 




For example, sparkle some baking soda in the urine area, it will helps reduce the smell.  Baking soda works great as a stall deodorizer.

Another tip from our facebook "liker":
"havent needed the baking soda with the horses (yet) however the house smells sooooooo great after using it as a deoderiser for the carpets. Simply sprinkle all over the carpeted areas then go back to the beginning (doesnt matter if you walk... over it) and vaccume! Also great for smelly boots and socks (wash the socks in a hot wash on their own with a generous amount of baking soda) for the smelly boots, sprinkle it in the boots and leave in the sun for a few hours then just wear as normal. We use it as a relaxing bath additive. 1 cup in a bath is so refreshing and add a couple of drops of lavender oil for a super relaxing time!"

For you smelly riding clothes or the dog bed, add a 1/2 cup of baking soda into laundry when you add your regular detergent, this can help:

- to remove odors from clothes.
- to make detergents work more effectively to reduce bacteria and loosen dirt

In addition, as a natural mineral, baking soda is less harsh on the environment than synthetic perfumes that mask odors.  This also makes it a good choice for those with sensitive skin and allergies.
