Horse back pain and problems can be man-made

- Putting cold water on a hot back,
- Inadequate warm-up/cool-down,
- Poorly fitting saddle and/or inadequate or dirty padding,
- Leaving a too-tight cinch/girth on too long,
- Poor grooming habits,
- Poor shoeing,
- Unbalanced diet,
- Turning out a fresh horse,
- Inadequate dental care and/or bitting problems, and
- Improper training/riding techniques
