Most of the mane and tail conditioner and detangler available are mostly composed of SILICONE.
Silicone is a synthetic by-products. It coats the skin, trapping anything beneath it, and do not allow the skin to breathe (much like plastic wrap would do.) When skin treated with silicones get exposed to sweat, it easily gets irritated.
When you do your next purchase, check the bottle to ensure it does not have Silicone.
Excellent Point! It makes the hair VERY brittle and breaks it right off easily so...I know, not only from horse products...but from salon industry ones too!
